🌱 H4O at Expo Doha: sustainable organic hydroponic growing
From October 2023 to April 2024, H4O took part in the International Horticultural Expo in Doha, inside the Italian Pavilion. The goal was clear: to show that organic hydroponics is a practical solution even in extreme environments (as we had already seen on Socotra, in Yemen).

♻️ A wooden system with 90% less plastic
To respect Qatar’s plastic-free policies, the team developed a hydroponic module made entirely of wood. This design drastically reduced the plastic used, with no loss of efficiency or productivity. It goes beyond the materials traditionally used in hydroponics, and puts the principles behind our project into practice.
🔄 The organic hydroponic system keeps producing flowers and fresh vegetables

After the event, the system moved to an Italian institution in Doha, where it is still active. The plants are thriving, confirming that organic hydroponics works even with high temperatures and scarce water. Little upkeep, simple to use and good to look at: it represents Italian excellence in hydroponic growing, with the care for nature that sets us apart.
📊 Innovation, sustainability and cooperation

This project brings together agricultural innovation, environmental sustainability and international cooperation. It is a model that can be repeated in other desert regions.
🚀 H4O: growing the future, anywhere
After Socotra and Doha, we’re ready to take on new challenges.
Organic hydroponics in extreme environments is no longer a theory: it’s reality.
